Joe Jacoby:
I was born in 1979 at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, but have lived in Florida since 3rd grade.
I have a Bachelors of Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida and a MBA from Florida Institute of Technology.  I’ve worked for United Space Alliance since 2001 on the Shuttle Program and recently for the Orion Crew Exploration Vehicle.
I was a swimmer with the Brandon Swim and Tennis Club Blue Wave Swim Team.  But I got tired of swimming laps and found I could get plantar fasciitis from running.  I got a Giant OCR3 back in 2003 and fell in love with cycling and triathlons.  My Giant was stolen, but I currently own a Cervelo Dual tri-bike and my self-assembled Merlin Agilis.  The Merlin has a lot of American components on it, with a SRAM drivetrain and Cane Creek wheels.  Recently, I had Bilenky Cycle Works install S&S couplers on it to make it transportable.
My most memorable event actually was running related instead of cycling.  Two years in a row I spent 24 hours in a van and running with five close friends in the Sunrise to Sunset relay.  We ran from Jensen Beach to Ft Myers, around lake Okeechobee.  I wish there was a cycling relay like that…
